Health Benefits Of Green Tea

You have probably heard that green tea has certain health benefits, but did you know that you can use its powers to aid you on your path of healing your body's pain and inflammation?

Green tea is loaded with antioxidants and bioactive compounds that have many health benefits, such as:

- Lowering your risk of heart disease

- Reducing inflammation

- Improving brain function

- Increasing fat burn by increasing metabolism

- Reducing blood sugar levels by improving insulin sensitivity.

Green tea contains an abundance of polyphenols, which are natural compounds that help fight against cancer and reduce inflammation.

Green tea also contains a natural antioxidant called epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG). Some benefits of this compound are:

- Reduces blood pressure

- Reduces inflammatory markers

- Reduces bad cholesterol (LDL)

- Reduces inflammation

One of the active ingredients in green tea is caffeine, which is a stimulant, but the amount of caffeine is much lower than in coffee. One cup of coffee has approximately 90 to 150mg of caffeine while one cup of green tea has about 30-50mg of caffeine. It has been observed that the energy boost you experience from green tea is a more stable and less jittery energy than you usually experience from coffee.

Anti-inflammatory + stable energy = more body motion

Experts say not to drink green tea on an empty stomach because it can adversely affect the stomach balance. It is recommended to drink 2-3 cups of green tea a day, 30-45 minutes after meals. When drinking it immediately after a meal, it can inhibit nutrient absorption and dilute gastric juices which result in improper digestion. Also, don't drink green tea late at night as it can affect your sleep due to the caffeine content.

When should you drink green tea? If you are a moderate coffee drinker, consider changing your habit to drinking one cup of coffee in the morning, then switch to green tea for the rest of the day. Pay attention to see if the energy you experience from green tea feels different.

Summary: The health benefits of green tea combined with the stable energy it provides can help you regain body motion and jump-start body healing.
